Why Consider Rhinoplasty?

When the functioning of the nose needs addressing, considers the use of septo rhinoplasty. Other considerations include:

Septorhinoplasty in London usually takes two to three hours under general anaesthetic.

Expect about one week off work, longer if swelling or is more visible.

You’ll be up and moving the same day, though expect swelling and congestion for the first week.

Gentle walking is fine after a few days, but strenuous exercise and contact sports should wait six weeks.

Most patients can drive again after one to two weeks, once splints are removed, vision is clear, and you feel comfortable.

You can shower after two days, avoiding hot water and pressure on the nose.

Healing takes around six weeks, with final results continuing to refine for up to a year.

Results are permanent, though natural ageing may subtly change nasal shape over time.

The Patient Journey: Septorhinoplasty

The initial septorhinoplasty consultation lasts about 30 minutes, usually face-to-face with Mr. Cavale at the . consultations are also available, but a final in-person meeting is required before the plan. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to book additional consultations at no extra cost to ensure you’re confident in your decision. It’s imperative that patients feel comfortable and confident in their decisions, so Mr. Cavale encourages all of his patients to speak to their consultant and close support network before making their final decision.  

After surgery, you’ll need someone to stay with you overnight. Aftercare includes virtual nursing contact via WhatsApp or phone and a follow-up visit a week later to remove dressings, splints, and stitches. Most return for a six-week check-up, but final results may take six months to fully settle. If you have concerns, please Mr. Cavale at any time.

What to Expect on the Day

During septorhinoplasty, your surgeon will determine the best approach—whether to make an internal or external incision—to access and correct the deviated septum and reshape the nose. This nose is effective for breathing issues and involves carefully adjusting the septum, the structure that the nasal cavity, by removing or straightening bone and cartilage to improve airflow and functionality.

When you wake up, you will have a cast and tape over the top of your nose and some light packing inside the nose; we do not like to use rigid packing or splints, as these can be very painful to remove. The packing inside your nose is removed before you go home and the stitches and the cast are removed a week later.
