Die Wahl des Materials hat mich lange beschäftigt. Ich liebe die warme Ausstrahlung von Holz, aber ich wusste, dass eine massive Platte sehr pflegeintensiv ist. Ein Tropfen Rotwein hinterlässt schnell einen Fleck, wenn man nicht schnell reagiert. Deshalb habe ich mich für eine geölte Eichenplatte entschieden, die ich regelmäßig mit einem speziellen Pflegeöl behandle. Das Öl schützt das Holz und gibt ihm einen seidigen Glanz. Nach drei Jahren sieht der Tisch immer noch aus wie am ersten Tag. Ich habe gelernt, dass man bei einem Esstisch nicht an der Qualität sparen sollte. Ein guter Tisch hält Jahrzehnte und wird mit der Zeit nur schöner.
